Yaas cyclone stronger than Amphan

ravaged Kolkata and the coastal districts. Cyclone "Yaas" is about to hit the state on the morning of May 26, 2021.

According to the Alipur Meteorological Office, cyclone "Yaas" is about to hit the state this time. Alipore Meteorological Department chief Sanjeev Bandyopadhyay said it would start raining from May 25 as a result of Yas. On May 26, this rain will turn into heavy rain. On May 25, the wind will blow at a speed of 70 km/h. Fishermen have been banned from going to sea since May 23 as an early warning for the cyclone.

Last year, in 20 coastal districts of Bangladesh, Amphan was hit. Cyclone Yaas is going to hit again on May 26 this year.

This time cyclone Yaas will hit India before Bangladesh.

Indian meteorologists say there is still low pressure in the East-Central Bay of Bengal. The radius of this depression is 600 km. The radius of Amphan was 450 km. Therefore, as low pressure, it is much larger in volume than Amphan.


In the next 18 hours, this depression will turn into a cyclone. Then on the morning of the 26th, it will hit the place between Digha and Sagar. They say the cyclone is heading north. The depression will take the form of a cyclone before May 24. After the 24th, Yass will take the form of a severe cyclone.


Since Yaas is larger in size than Amphan, it is more likely to take the form of a larger cyclone. On the 27th, heavy rains are likely in North and South Bengal.


According to Indian meteorologists, the radius of this Yaas will cover a distance of 600 km, which means that Yaas will cover an area of ​​about 1200 km. As the storm is heading north, Yas will pass over Kolkata. It will then enter Bangladesh via Hooghly, Burdwan, Murshidabad, and Maldah.

Although it has a speed of 130 to 145 kilometers per hour in the sea, it will hit the coast with a speed of 180 to 180 kilometers per hour. Since the diameter of Yaas is larger than that of Amphan, it is thought that the intensity of this cyclone will be greater than that of Amphan.
