Rozina's Bail Order, Which The Court Said.

The court granted bail to Rozina Islam, a senior reporter of the daily Prothom Alo, in a case filed under the Official Secrets Act. On Sunday (May 23), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah's virtual court granted him bail.


"His interim bail was granted on a bond of Rs 5,000," the judge said in the order. In addition, She has to submit his passport. The media and the judiciary complement each other. I expect everyone to behave responsibly and tolerantly.


Earlier on Thursday (May 20), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billa's virtual court held a bail hearing for journalist Rozina. On the same day, lawyers Ehsanul Haque Samaji, Aminul Gani Titu, Jyotirmoy Barua, Prashant Kumar Karmakar, and Ashraful Alam appeared for Rozina. On the other hand, Hemayet Uddin Hiron opposed bail on behalf of the state.


Following the hearing, the court set a date of Sunday (May 23) for the presentation of important state information and order on bail.


Last Tuesday (May 18), police produced Rozina Islam in court and applied for a five-day remand. On the other hand, his lawyer Prashant Kumar Karmakar applied for his bail. Following the hearing, the judge denied his remand application. He also set a bail hearing on Thursday (May 20).


Subsequently, Rozina's lawyer Prashant Kumar Karmakar applied for her treatment. The court ordered his treatment as per the jail rules. She was then taken in a prison van to the Kashimpur Central Women's Jail in Gazipur. She is currently there.


A case was filed against Rozina Islam at Shahbagh Police Station on Monday (May 17th) night. Based on the allegations of the Ministry of Health, the case was filed by the Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health. Md. Shabbir Ahmed Usmani.


After long detention at the Secretariat, journalist Rozina Islam was brought to Shahbagh Police Station around 9pm on Monday (May 17). The ministry has accused him of taking pictures of important government documents on his mobile phone without permission and hiding some other documents.
